The Vivint Arena, was opened in 1991 in Salt Lake City, It is home ground of American professional basketball team Utah Jazz, originally known as the Delta Center after a naming rights deal with Delta Air Lines, has a hub at the Salt Lake City International Airport. The arena was renamed on October 26, 2015 as part of a 10-year naming rights contract with the Provo-based home security system provider Vivint. In 2020, it became the Vivint Arena.

The Vivint Arena has a bag policy in place in order to ensure the safety of all guests. All bags must be smaller than 14"x14"x6". Guests are allowed to bring one bag per person into the arena. Bags that do not meet security requirements will not be allowed into the venue.

Vivint Arena Bag Policy

As per the Vivint Arena bag policy, all audiences are encouraged to bring bags that are no larger than 14” x 14” x 6”, and clutch purses should not be larger than 4" x 6"x 2”.

 Only the following items will be permitted into the stadium:

  • Diaper Bags do not exceed 14” x 14" x 6.”
  • If you have a medical condition that requires you to carry a medical bag. You are allowed to bring a medical bag into the stadium as long as it meets the size requirements. The bag must be no larger than 14x14x6 inches.

Vivint Arena is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. In order to ensure the safety of all guests, all medical and diaper bags will be X-rayed upon entrance.

So if you Bringing either of those types of bags, please be prepared for a bit of a delay getting into the arena.

Types of bags allowed in the stadium along with dimensions

There are a few different types of bags that are allowed in stadiums, and each has its own specific dimensions. Here is a rundown of the types of bags allowed in stadiums, along with their dimensions:

Diaper Bags Smaller than 14”x14”x6”

Diaper bags that are smaller than 14”x14”x6” are allowed into the arena, but any larger bags will not be permitted. This policy is in place to help security screeners quickly and efficiently check all bags that come into the arena.

Clutch Purse Smaller than 4”x6”x2”

Only small clutch purses that are 4”x6”x2” or smaller than 4”x6”x2” are allowed inside the arena. All other bags must be stored in the car or at home. This policy helps to prevent theft and ensures that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at the arena.

Medical Bag Smaller than 14”x14”x6” 

You are allowed to bring one medical bag per person into the stadium. The bag must be no larger than 14"x14"x6". You are not allowed to bring any other type of bag into the stadium.

Which bags are not allowed in the stadium?

There are several types of bags that are not allowed in the stadium.

Laptop Bags

Laptop bags are not allowed in the stadium. This is because they can be used to smuggle other contraband.

Backpacks

Backpacks are not allowed in the stadium. This is because they can also be used to store food and drinks, which would create a mess if left unchecked.

Gym Bags

Gym bags are not allowed in the stadium. The reason for this is that they may contain items that are prohibited in the stadium. If you have a gym bag, you will need to either leave it at home or your vehicle.

Large purses

Large purses are not allowed in the stadium. This is because they can easily be used to smuggle in contraband. Purses that are small enough to fit under a seat are allowed, but anything larger will need to be left in the vehicle.

Beach Bags

Beach bags are not allowed in the stadium. They are too large and can obstruct the view of other fans.

Travel bags

Travel bags are not allowed in the stadium. This includes any type of suitcase, duffel bag, or backpack. All bags must be able to fit under your seat or in your lap. You may bring a small purse or clutch as long as it does not obstruct your view or the view of other fans.

Other Policies You Should Know Before Game Day

Before you head to the game, make sure you know the policies of the stadium. There are a few other policies that you should be aware of before game day.

Animal Policy

The stadium policy is clear on one thing – animals are not allowed. This includes only pets. service animals or those in training are welcome into all arenas with public access, but they must be leashed and at their handler's side unless they are being used to assist the disabled. Guests with disabilities are responsible for cleaning up their service animals if any messes are created.

Smoking Policy

Vivint Arena is 100% Smoke-free and there is a designated smoking area outside the building by Door 9 on the Main Level. Smoking is not permitted inside the building but is allowed in the Smoke-Free Area. Guests must be 25 feet away from Vivint Arena when smoking.

Alcohol Policy

The Vivint Arena has an alcohol policy that guests must follow in order to enter the stadium. No outside alcohol is allowed into the stadium. Management reserves the right to eject any guests who are underage(Below 21) and illegally consume alcohol, or are visibly intoxicated. These guests are also subject to citations or arrests by the police department.

Guests are only allowed to purchase two alcoholic beverages per transaction. All guests must show ID when purchasing alcohol and there is a limit of two drinks per ID. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all fans.

Camera Policy

The Vivint Arena has a strict camera policy. Only small, handheld cameras are allowed inside the stadium. No tripods or monopods are allowed. No professional or commercial grade cameras are allowed with interchangeable/detachable lenses or any other high-grade camera equipment. 

Banners, Signs, and Flags Policy

There are a few things you should know about the stadium's Banners, signs, and Flags policies. 

  1. Banner, Signs, and Flags no larger than 11 x 17 inches in size.
  2. Banner, Signs, and Flags may not block or obstruct the view of any other guests.
  3. Banner, Signs, and Flags must be related to the show and not contain obscene or offensive language or pictures
  4. Poles, sticks, or pipes to display items are prohibited
  5. Banner, Signs, and Flags may not be hung, displayed, or affixed to any part of the arena
