Nissan Stadium Bag Policy

Nissan Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Nashville, Tennessee. It is home to the Titans from the NFL, as well as Memphis Tigers from Tennessee State University, and has a seating capacity of 69,143.

Its first game was a 36-35 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on September 12, 1999. Nissan Stadium is known by three names, the Adelphia Coliseum (1999-2002), the Coliseum (2002-2006), and LP Field (2006-2015).

Nissan Stadium requires that all guests bring a clear bag with them when entering the stadium. This policy is in place to help expedite security screenings and keep everyone safe. However, Nissan Stadium has set a guideline limiting the number and size of clear bags you can carry inside the stadium.

Fans are advised not to bring any bags with them, as this will save them time from bag inspections. If they are absolutely required to bring a bag, You can bring clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” and the clutch purse should not be larger than 4.5" x 6.5"

 Only the following items will be permitted into the stadium:

  • Bags that are made of clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6" x 12.”
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • Small bags, which are a maximum of the size of a hand, and have somewhere to attach a strap or handle or not, can be taken into the stadium with one of our clear plastic bags.
  • There will be an exception for any medically necessary items after inspection at a gate designated to that purpose.

Guests will be allowed to use all styles of clear bags as long as they are 12" x 12" x 6" or smaller. These include clear cinch sacks, clear diaper bags, gallon Ziploc bags, etc.

All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry and guests who do not comply with the policy will be asked to return their bags to their vehicles.

Types of Clear bags allowed in the stadium along with dimensions

The Nissan stadium bag policy to ensures the safety of all guests. The following types of clear bags are allowed in the stadium:

Clear Bag Smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12”

A small clear bag no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12” is perfect for carrying around your smaller items such as your phone, wallet, and keys. This size bag will fit comfortably under your seat or in your lap.

Clutch Purse Smaller than 4.5" x 6.5"

A clutch purse is a small purse that is typically used as an evening bag. It is usually large enough to fit your driver's license, some cash, and a few credit cards.

You can carry your normal evening clutch bag, as long as its the right size. You don't need to have a transparent bag, but security will check it

Non-transparent bags

Non-transparent bags can't be larger than 4.5" x 6.5". This includes handbags and things like plastic shopping bags. Please Note: Security guards may want to take a look at these bags, even if they are inside other bags.

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag

The one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag is the most common type that is allowed. This bag must be completely clear and no larger than 11" x 11". This bag can be used to carry food, beverages, and other items.

Things You Can Carry In Nissan Stadium

Diapers and wipes

Nissan Stadium is a great place to bring your family, and they accommodate for even the youngest members. They allow you to bring in diapers and wipes, so you don't have to worry about running out while you're there.

Small cameras and cell phones

Small cameras and cell phones are allowed, so long as they don't interfere with other guests' enjoyment of the game. Cameras with non-removable lenses can be taken inside the sporting arena as long as they are less than three inches in length. However, professional cameras and video cameras are not allowed.

Seat cushions Smaller than 18”

Seat cushions must be smaller than 18” in order to be carried into Nissan Stadium. This rule is for the safety of all guests and to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience.

Non-approved seat cushions include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers.

Which bags are not allowed in the stadium?

There are several types of bags that are not allowed in the stadium.

Laptop Bags

Laptop bags are not allowed in the stadium. The reason for this is that they can be used to smuggle in contraband. Laptop bag restrictions are in place to keep the stadium safe.

Gym Bags

Gym bags are not allowed in the stadium. This is because they are often larger than the size restrictions for bags. They also often have metal from the zipper or other hardware, which can set off the metal detectors at the entrance

Backpacks

Backpacks are not allowed in most stadiums. They are usually too big and can block the view of other spectators. Plus, they can be used to smuggle prohibited items.

Beach Bags

Beach bags are not allowed in the stadium. The bag policy for the stadium states that only soft-sided bags that are less than 16"x16"x8" are allowed. This is to ensure that everyone can fit into the stadium and that there aren't any large objects to block people's view.

Large purses

Large purses are not allowed in the stadium. This is because they can be used to smuggle in contraband, and they can also be a nuisance if they're blocking other people's views.

Ladies’ purses 

Ladies’ purses are not allowed in the stadium. They must be either left at home or carried in a clear plastic bag. Ladies’ purses can be a security risk because they can be used to hide contraband.

Travel bags

Travel bags are not allowed in the stadium. This includes luggage, backpacks, and any other type of bag that is larger than a small personal bag. Guests are encouraged to leave these items at home or in their vehicles. Small personal bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12” are permitted.

Other Policies You Should Know Before Game Day

Before you head to the game, make sure you know the policies of the stadium. There are a few other policies that you should be aware of before game day.

Alcohol Policy

Nissan Stadium has a clear alcohol policy that guests must follow in order to enter the stadium. No outside alcohol is allowed into the stadium. If guests are found to have outside alcohol, they will be ejected from the premises. 

Guests are only allowed to purchase two alcoholic beverages per transaction. All guests must show ID when purchasing alcohol and there is a limit of two drinks per ID. There are also no alcohol sales after the third quarter. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all fans.

Camera Policy

Nissan Stadium has a strict camera policy. Only small, handheld cameras are allowed inside the stadium. No tripods or monopods are allowed. Professional cameras are not allowed inside the stadium unless you have a media pass.

Banners, Signs, and Flags Policy

If you're heading to Nissan, there are a few things you should know about the stadium's policies. 

  1. Only banners, signs, and flags(Not Include National Flags) that are related to the team or event are allowed in the stadium. 
  2. They must be small enough to be held by one person and cannot obstruct the view of other guests. 
  3. Any banners, signs, or flags that are deemed to be offensive will not be allowed in the stadium.
  4. Any Banners, signs, and flags may not be attached to poles or sticks.
  5. They should be constructed of either vinyl, cloth, or other lightweight materials.
  6. Guests will not be permitted to display more than one banner, sign, or flag.
