Soldier Field
In 1919, two architects won a competition to build a memorial for American soldiers who died in wars. Soldier Field was built in three stages between 1922-1939. Originally named the Municipal Grant Park Stadium in 1924, it was changed a year later to Soldier Field. In 1971, the Chicago Bears left Wrigley field to play at Soldier Field. Since then, numerous games, concerts, festivals, and events have been held. Two notable events: the 1994 World Cup was played on the field, being the first time on American soil. The second, is the birthplace of the first Special Olympic games in 1968.
Over time the facility has received updates and is the first NFL stadium and first existing North American stadium to receive the award of LEED-EB certification. As a sustainable brand, we love to see bigger entities taking on environmental certifications and making steps in a positive direction for our planet.
